I honestly have no clue, I have no more information about how this new route works than anyone else.
I do a lot of speculating, but the fact that 1) Rika is there and 2) her, V, and Unknown have new looks tell me something is up. The music isn’t as catchy and up-beat as the Original Opening either.

Let me put it this way, Mystic Messenger has yet to super rip our hearts out. The April Fool’s DLC was just a small peek into what they are actually capable of. And, as someone who HAS completed the full storyline that is out already (minus some bad ends), I think that this isn’t going to be a happy, pleasurable time as Cheritz suggested.
I think this and possibly an Unknown route (however that would work too) are now the time for Cheritz to just rip out hearts.
